Missourians need help. Nearly everyone knows someone who passed away from an opioid or heroin overdose. The heartbreak we are feeling is not justified. Physicians are pushing opioids as the best pain reliever available, yet it is highly addictive. The advertising and lobbying for prescription drug companies is despicable.
We can help combat the opioid epidemic with Medical Marijuana.
States that have ended marijuana prohibition have seen a 25% decrease in opioid overdose deaths.
Not only can medical marijuana offset the devastation caused by opioids, but it can also be used to help with Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Epilepsy, Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's Disease, Cancer, and the list goes on.
After years of work with Greater St. Louis Norml, talking to people about why they use it and how it affects them, and knowing people that have experienced violence while trying to purchase their medicine, it's time for us to unite in the push to end marijuana prohibition!
I'm confident, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this is what Missouri needs to begin healing from this absolute travesty. I will fight to reschedule marijuana.
